LWCAD for Blender

Hello Victor,
First off thank you for everything you have done with LWCAD . Its kept me using Lightwave for years. I would have been done with it long ago if it wasn't for you.
That being said. Lightwave is done. 2018 version of Lightwave proved to be the biggest waste of my money. I have used it since the Toaster days, and now the product is decades behind.
1 day of using BLENDER 2.8 proves how much the industry is beyond lightwave.
I would like to ask you consider making your tools for BLENDER. I want to continue supporting you and CAD TOOLS in BLENDER would be an awesome addition and would upgrade immediately.

Thank you
Gary Barringer

Garry I am sorry, but making another port of LWCAD is very expensive.
Blender community is very large but there is very few users who actually are willing to pay for plugins.

Regarding LightWave 2018 I have to disagree with you.
It is the best update of LightWave.
NewTek finally made important changes in LWSDK specially for LWCAD.

Next versions of LWCAD for LightWave will be full of revolutionary new features, specially because of updates in LightWave 2018.

I have to thank the NT team for this.

If Blender is as good as everyone says, then why would they want a tool like LWCad? ...

So Blender is not as good as it looks.

Blender is for animation.

If you do architecture then LW is the best option.

The LW may be out of date but your workflow has more logic than the Blender workflow.

Blender's biggest flaw is in his mess.

The LW in this regard is much better.

Thank you Viktor for you reply.
I use 3D every day at work, in the film industry. I am continually using your software to build 3D set for the shows. But I have eveytime this year gone back to 2015.3 for reliability.
2018 is beta in my eyes. The biggest waste of money for a user. I am glad they finally have given you more LWSDK information, but the amount of bugs in Modeler and Layout are to much. 2015.3 serves me well. But way to far behind.
I have been using Blender since 2.8 started. 2.79 was not good, but 2.8 is pretty amazing and decades ahead in my opinion. Even the the major 3D animation company here in town dropped maya for blender.
No software is perfect, but the lack of interest in fixing bugs i have submitted and outright lying from them on the phone has not been good.
Thank you again for the years of your product. Will keep using it in 2015 until i drop LW all together. Time to move on.

Thank you

Try using LW18 + LWCad18 + Octane4 and you will see that LW15 is no longer of importance to you.

After that I never used LW15 again.

Now I'm just looking forward to seeing the LW19.

I also thought of you when I was using the LW18 native renderer.

And that's the main problem with Blender, as I answered for the first time.
Blender users expect to get the plugins be sold for free or at a very small fee.
LWCAD development is very expensive and ports for other software is a massive investment that will come back in a few years.
LWCAD for LightWave is priority now!
No more ports, I am sorry.

I hope I fully answered your question so I am closing this thread.
