I have a question about some shapes lib. I am running into an issue where I don't see the items in the shapes lib panels. It see the folders and list the shapes but doesn't draw the orange wires or even draw them in modeler when trying to use them. Is it because they are in sub folders?
The only way to make it work is by taking them out of sub folders and placing them in the same folder abov
I have both LW 2019 and 2020. I've tried installing LWCAD 2018 in both, but can't get it to show up in any of the menus. I followed the instructions and I found a youtube video that also showed how to install the menus, but they still don't show up on either LW install.
Can someone please help me figure out how to make this work?
I haven't used LW or LWCAD for a long time but wanted to pick it up again. When I try to download it I am told that my serial number is wrong although it's the one I received in a n email. I have tried to make contact by email but have had no response. Can you please help. Thanks
Hello ! I'm trying to draw curves on a mesh, I want the curves to "stick" to the surface and follow the shape of my mesh. I remember having done that with a previous verions of LWcad but I can't find the right settings in the snap to get the line tool to follow my background geometry anymore.
I've run into an issue while trying to edit a box made with Nurbs. Both the Offset Tool and simple Extrude aren't working for some reason. In the images below, I recreated a nurbs object similar to the one in the Ver 5 Nurbs introductory video. After rounding the edge, I was able to extrude and offset the surfaces without any problem. The middle box was made with the polygon option and it offset
I'm not able to configure LWCAD menus in Lightwave 2019.1.5. I've manually installed plugins , but the menu configuration doesn't work. I've added a Youtube link below showing my attempt to configure. You can see that no menu items appear. Is there another way to display the plugins? I'm not able to use LWCAD at all. Thanks. I'm having a great deal of fun using the patching tools, especially the network patch, but the one major limitation I keep running into is that it can only loft single segments. This is fine if all I'm lofting is simple curves or splines, but if I want to loft something more complicated such as a profile that has a straight line segment in it (see images below), then Patch will only
Add drawing levels/elevations so when drafting on the selected level, things are place on that level. In pro arch programs, this is a given. Or at least make the Z level, when changed to place a wall up to another level, keep that number instead of having to re-enter it every point.
More dimension abilities. Very important. Printable.
And I want to inform you about the status of LWCAD for LightWave. The development is on schedule with a little delay and some adjustments. But, you can expect the features to be delivered in 2020, as outlined in https://youtu.be/yQzudOrfXKk?t=2394 . With the new MeshTR engine, you can look forward to many
I am very sad to announce that the LWCAD 3ds Max version is officially terminated.
Main reason of the termination are very poor sales of the plugin. Although the 3dsMax has the biggest user community, very small portion actually using purchased license. Combined with AutoDesk's pricing policy (milking users), there is very little space for a small third-party developers to succeed with
When creating a polygonal Box or Cylinder/Cone, it would be great if there was a numeric panel option for adding uniform segments. At present the only way is to add them using LW's Bandsaw Pro, and that doesn't work on LWCAD's Cones.
Also, it would be useful if you could hold the Shift or Ctrl key to drag out uniform sized 1x1x1 objects.
I would like to request the addition of a LWCAD version of the Lathe tool. Since Lightwaves native tool doesn't work on LWCAD curves, it is necessary to convert them to LW lines in order to do the revolving, and then only in polygons. Also LW's tool doesn't have the benefit of LWCAD's snapping and is hard to use at times.
I've come up with a work around where I draw a profile using
It seems that with a spiral staircase greater than 360° the railings (or the curve associated with it) is not drawn greater that 360°. It draws the railing/curve evenly spaced between the top and bottom stairs but not the full length of the stairs.
The current betas are not installing for R21 on systems without AVX ie older 2012 Mac Pros running either Windows or Mac Os. It is a common issue affecting a lot of C4D plugins. Please set AVX to off and SSE2 to on.
I am using lwcad 2018.3 and lightwave 2019.1.4 and I can save a window design to archviz and it appears in the library but then when I close it and then re- open it is not saved can someone help me on where im going wrong
Is possible to have tool that covers all common shapes of beams (IPE, HEB, UPN, rectangle, reticulated, etc) in a parametric manner and save the preset?(like the new windows tool or railing tool)?. Would be nice if is possible to draw it like the pipe tool.
New project, create a couple of planes, a circle, and a line, making sure they intersect. Grab the line tool, set INT snapping, and try to snap to intersected lines. I re-installed 2018.1 and it worked fine. Then re-installed 2018.3 again and it didn't work. All the other snap types work fine.
